The creative tools I use are drama, movement, sound, puppetry, story telling, creative writing and film.
finding new creative and supportive ways to engage hard to reach and vulnerable people,
being responsive to the needs of individuals in front of me and
watching people open up and realise something new about themselves.
Even though I left these two companies years ago when I moved to Leeds, they are both so seminal to my career development I wanted to feature them. Both projects were set up as 'satellite sheds' under the guidance of Chickenshed Theatre who offered a fantastic training programme on how to deliver inclusive arts workshops. Over the years of working on establishing these companies alongside a team they both went from strength to strength; we had fantastic numbers of children and young people engaging from all backgrounds and abilities, we created outstanding theatre productions and built a community atmosphere on the values of support, nurture and innovative creativity.
