The creative tools I use are drama, movement, sound, puppetry, story telling, creative writing and film.
I love...
-
finding new creative and supportive ways to engage hard to reach and vulnerable people,
-
being responsive to the needs of individuals in front of me and
-
watching people open up and realise something new about themselves.
Even though I left these two companies years ago when I moved to Leeds, they are both so seminal to my career development I wanted to feature them. Both projects were set up as 'satellite sheds' under the guidance of Chickenshed Theatre who offered a fantastic training programme on how to deliver inclusive arts workshops. Over the years of working on establishing these companies alongside a team they both went from strength to strength; we had fantastic numbers of children and young people engaging from all backgrounds and abilities, we created outstanding theatre productions and built a community atmosphere on the values of support, nurture and innovative creativity.
